Summertime and the livin’s easy…

An incredible weekend trip to NYC to unite friends for live music, and inspirational art kicked off this summers happenings! An innovative PMC graduate art class was next on the agenda to balance summer fun and studies. Travels to Den Haag, Amsterdam, Paris, Outer Banks, Ocean City, and Rehoboth kept me busy on my continued quest for knowledge. Highlights include the Van Gogh Museum, Waterlooplein, Rembrandthuis, Rijksmuseum, 9 Streets, Golden Bend, Munttroren‎, Da Portare Via, Maurithuis, De Gooyer, Escher in Het Paleis, Simonis, Scheveningen Sunset, Pantheon, Tour Eiffel, Musee du Louvre, Vesuvio, Arc de Triomphe, d’Orsay, Musee Rodin, Sainte-Chapelle, Sacre Coeur, and Arenes de Lutece. Local attractions like Chuck Close, Norman Rockwell, James McNeil Whistler, Edvard Munch, American Modernism and Impressionism kept me well informed of the latest DC happenings as I head into the next phase of 2010.
Fall semester graduate art studies, full-time teaching, landscaping and automobile projects are on the horizon. I am looking forward to resuming my new found partnership with the National Museum of Women in the Arts and work in collaboration with upcoming exhibit, Loïs Mailou Jones: A Life in Vibrant Color beginning October 9, 2010. Four decades of fun brings this summer to a close…

You are probably asking yourself, why doesn’t she clean-up this site and get those gallery pages updated? Well, I don’t exactly have a good answer, just plenty of excuses! I have been keeping busy doing other things. In fact, I am planning some big trips to some places that I have never been. Travel books, web sites and passport stuff has taken over my life. Besides my usual day-to-day, I recently attended a calligraphy workshop and met the White House head calligrapher. My other happenings? I am currently working on a sterling silver pendant and earring set for my mother’s 70th birthday. Other side projects include flyers, videos, and collages. Many new things to come in the months ahead. Ketch-up with you later! Sarah

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you guys! I can barely keep up with all of my new happenings. Here’s the run down: I have been busy teaching, taking two classes: one on metal plate jewelry, and a mini resource course to help teach the gifted, working on a case study, creating a commisioned jewelry piece, checking out the Man Ray exhibit at the Phillips and Ariadne at the Opera House. Plus we did some house revovations! Whenever I get a break from all of this, I promise I will work on some changes to the site…thanks! don’t forget about me, Sarah

Thanks for checking back to see what I am up to! Work is back in full swing and I am taking a Graduate Art class this semester. Life is busy, to say the least! Taking a lot of night shots lately, working on different jewelry designs and some pastel paintings. I can’t wait until the leaves start changing color for premium photo opportunities. Will I ever get my gallery uploaded? I hope so…Sarah

I can’t wait to get my gallery up and going, it’s a little slow moving but stay tuned.
In the meantime, I am enjoying each day of summer until I return back to work.
Future projects include rooftop shots around dc when the weather cools down a bit.
